Just a few weeks ago, Epic Games Publishing and Remedy with Alan Wake Remastered had a new edition of the Action Adventory for the PlayStation 5, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox Series X / S, the Xbox One and the PC announced. For this you have not only promised a 4K resolution. Rather, the developers have also graphically enhanced other areas of the former Xbox 360 exclusive title.
More than just an upscale
So that you already get an impression of the improvements, Remedy has published an official comparison trailer. This opens up the original Xbox 360 version of the new Xbox Series X version, which quickly recognizes some changes. In an associated blog entry, the developers have revealed some more details about the new edition.
Thus, the adventure in highly scaled 4k with a refresh rate of 60 fps over the screen is run, while the intermediate sequences have been upgraded with improved facial animations, improved lip sync, lush environments, and better character models. The character models have received revised skin textures and hair shaders. Furthermore, the materials and textures were generally upgraded, whereby anti-aliasing, shadows, wind and visibility have been revised.

The characters were also modeled in the way that they see the actors on which they are based are similar. The facial animations also have new Motion Capture for dialogues and more than 600 additional poses to give more expression to the actor achievements. In the environments, the trees and the foliage have received more attention, making moss, ferns, falling leaves and more. In addition, various materials such as dirt, rocks and mountains were given a more complex and more accurate presentation. Finally, additional details on the buildings, vehicles and other objects have also been added.
Alan Wake Remastered will be launched on 5 October 2021.
