A product description in the bioware shop triggers snapping breathing for mass effect fans. How the possible leak came, how the mistake was repaired and what could be about the rumors.
The end of the original Mass-Effect trilogy left wounds: when playing and experiencing the final in 2012, and of course by turmoil around the submitted extended cut for Mass Effect 3; At the time, everything was relieved to anger to anger to accusation of returning. Ten years and a superfluous sequel called Andromeda later we know above all that a new series part is created at Bioware. Information on this is still in short supply one and a half years after the announcement via teaser (video below).
The possible information about the new game was discovered by the Youtuber MR Hulthen, comes from a poster from the official bioware gear store. There the information text revealed the following: "The show continues... Shepard's last order may have ended the threat from the Reaper, but that was with immense costs, including the earth Even, connected. While Shepard and the survivors put the shards together, the fans wonder what is going to be up next. "
Further information that refers to the image content of the poster (1 Kroganer, 1 four-man team, the Normandy remembered ship, crater in GETH-shape) and on the rumors scattered by Bioware Manager McKay are lost in view of the explosive power of the above lines. Will Shepard appear again as a character in the new Mass Effect and maybe even be playable? As is well known, there were various ends of Mass Effect 3, with some fatal consequences for the character team - and therefore also several options to connect. Which end is now considered the official series canon could be clarified by the text from the shop. Or is there nothing about it? Because the text was quickly changed in the bioware gear store: First, only Shepard's name was removed, in a second revision all references to the story were then deleted.
Of course, many game pages plunged on Mr Hulthen's video, sometimes more, sometimes less euphoric or gullible. In the meantime, Mike Gamble, at Bioware as a Project Director for the next Mass Effect, has announced via Twitter that the original text should have been an error. However, an official statement by Bioware and/or EA is still pending.
